SELDTA stands for "Southeast Local District Teachers' Association". We are an organization of professional teachers who teach for Southeast Local School District in Portage county, Ohio. As members of SELDTA, we are also members of the Northeastern Ohio Educators' Association (NEOEA), the Ohio Education Association (OEA), and the National Education Association (NEA). SELDTA was created in order to fulfill seven purposes.
Our first purpose is to promote a healthy educational atmosphere for students of Southeast local schools. Our second purpose is to recognize the preeminence of the code of ethics of the education profession. Our third purpose is to protect the welfare and advance the interests of our members. Our fourth and fifth purposes are to foster professional attitudes and to promote the professional development of our members. Our sixth purpose is to aid in securing and maintaining salaries and fringe benefits that will enable educators to function properly as a vital factor in the educational process. Our final purpose is to have a constitution which shall be consistent with the Constitution of the OEA.
